Lawrence North forward Dominique Ferguson told Sean today that he likes IU because the location would make it easy for his parents to attend games, opening a door for Hoosier fans looking for big-name commitments in the 2010 class.

The consensus five-star recruit, who says his versatility is his greatest strength, was once committed to Kentucky, but reopened the process when Billy Gillespie left Lexington. A commitment from the 6-foot-9 Indianapolis native would mark the first five-star recruit to come to IU under Crean.

IU is hardly alone in its pursuit of Ferguson, however. Kentucky is still hot after the big man, as are Purdue, Ohio State, Kansas, Wake Forest, Illinois, Arizona and, more recently, Duke.

IU fans have been concerned with their program's recruiting profile pretty much since mid-February 2008, and many feel the Hoosiers just need one or two headline commitments to get the ball rolling. Christian Watford and Maurice Creek helped, Ferguson, Kyrie Irving or Marquis Teague would, methinks, send the IU faithful into an elated tizzy.

Again, remember to stay tuned for some great multimedia coverage coming soon from Sean and veteran photographer Peter Stevenson.
