IU finished its series in Ann Arbor with another Big Ten series win, surrendering its only loss in a 6-1 game to Big Ten Pitcher of the Year candidate Chris Fetter (6-1).

The loss also featured a flurry of misplayed balls for IU, which consistently failed freshman pitcher Blake Monar with four errors. Monar only gave up one earned run in the game, as five other batters made it on base because of faulty defense.

The last two games of the series took a drastic turn in IU's favor. Junior pitchers Eric Arnett and Matt Bashore led IU to two wins and their fourth series win. The Hoosier bats also got going in the second game, providing eight runs for an 8-7 win.

Junior Chris Squires finished game two and set the momentum for Bashore's performance in a low scoring 3-1 win. Bashore only allowed one earned run and struck out six in his performance.

IU will next take the field against IU coach Tracy Smith's former club when they play Miami (Ohio) at 4 p.m. on Sembower Field on Tuesday.
