Qualifications are over, and the day didn't go by without plenty of drama as teams tried to squeeze into the final few positions. Here are some brief notes from the last couple hours of qualifications, and if you follow the jump, you can see the unofficial qualifying order for both races. - Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Cycling 4 Freedom faulted on all three qualifying attempts, and neither team made the race on the men's side. After two faults, the teams were cycled to the end of the day for one final attempt, and both teams botched exchanges.
- Evans Scholars was the last men's team to make the race. After two failed attempts and seeing Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Cycling 4 Freedom fault on the crucial third try, the Evans Scholars successfully completed four smooth exchanges and qualified in the middle of the pack.
- Beta Theta Pi benefited from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon and C4F faults as they squeaked in as the 33rd qualifier with an early morning qualification time of 2:36.
- Team Cinzano seemed to get the unluckiest break of the day as rain moved in before their qualifying attempt. Forced to be extra cautions, the team was not able to post a time good enough for the 33-team field. A few minutes later, the rain subsided.
- On the women's side, Team Lioness was the very last qualification attempt of the day. Not wanting to risk any mistakes, the four riders looked like they were out for a leisure ride - they qualified in the 31st and final position with a time of 3:50, 21 seconds behind the 30th qualifier.
