After a lackluster start to their season Friday, the Hoosiers rebounded with a dominant 12-4 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas.
Junior pitcher Eric Arnett had an impressive six innings, giving up only four hits and striking out a career-high eight batters. Sophomore pitcher Joey O'Gara came in for the seventh and eighth innings and gave up only two hits. Freshman pitcher Drew Leininger closed the game by retiring all three batters.
Hitting was also much improved from the Friday afternoon game. Nine different Hoosiers had a hit on Saturday, including sophomore Jerrud Sabourin. The first baseman went 3-4 with a double and two runs against the Hoyas.
IU returns to action 1 p.m. tomorrow against South Florida. The final game of the Big Ten/Big East Challenge will feature freshman pitcher Blake Monar in his collegiate start for the Hoosiers.
