Hey folks,
IU forward Will Bruin was nominated to Soccer America's All-Freshmen first team, the University announced today.
Bruin started all 24 games for the Hoosiers this season, recording six goals and 61 shots.
The St. Louis, Mo. native scored two of his goals in the team's road trip to California in the season's third weekend.
Against then-No. 24 UCLA, Bruin contributed to a 3-0 win with the game's second goal off of a rebound in the 66th minute of the match.
Two days later, Bruin opened the scoring against the University of San Diego, with a goal in the 4th minute, coming off a deflected corner kick.
Bruin then added a pair of goals against Evansville on Sept. 30, becoming the team's only player to score twice in a game.
He then netted the game-winning goal against then-No. 8 Northwestern to end the regular season, and another against Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.
Bruin was the only Big Ten player on either of Soccer America's first or second All-Freshmen teams, was honored by the Big Ten with being named to the conference's All-Freshman team and named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
