In case you missed Tom Crean last night and want to see him in person, or you just can't get enough of him, Crean will be at Foster Quad in the Hoosier Den tonight at 7 p.m. for an addition of CHALK TALK

Judging by the press release it looks like it's going to be like last night minus the lecture, strictly Q & A.

In case you can't make it i'll be there taking notes, and the notes that make sense will be promptly put up right here on the basketblog.

One quote from last night I forgot to mention that stuck out to me was when Crean discussed Tom Izzo's first year as head coach at Michigan State. Crean was an assistant for Izzo then, and said MSU started two walk on guards at Iowa. Crean described this as "uncharted waters."

The reason this stuck out to me is because that is exactly what Crean said this years Hoosiers team would be doing, entering uncharted waters.

Maybe he just likes nautical references, but maybe this is the reason Crean seems so calm and confident right now. He saw and was a part of Michigan State's transformation from that team with two walk on guards to national champions under Izzo.

So while this is uncharted waters for IU and the players, Crean may have his sea legs under him from witnessing Michigan State rebuild.

(OF course...the more likely scenario is i'm an idiot and reading a little too much into a generic phrase. Your thoughts on this are welcome regardless.)
