The Hoosiers' defense was bolstered Thursday morning when the University announced Florida transfer, Jerimy Finch, may compete this season.

Per NCAA rules, Finch and other transfers must sit one year after transferring. But the sophomore safety received permission to play this season from the NCAA Subcommittee on Legislation Relief after a waiver was submitted on his behalf, citing extenuating personal circumstances around his need to leave Florida.

Finch played linebacker for the Gators for three games before a broken leg ended his season. In the three contests, Finch tallied seven tackles and an interception. The Warren Central grad left high school ranked the No. 1 safety in the nation and the state's top prospect.
