IDS Sports Editor Lee Hurwitz and Managing Editor Peter Stevenson caught up with Eli Holman and A.J. Ratliff at the HPER. This is what they had to say about Crean and the future.
Eli Holman (regarding his future on the team) "I'll know by next Wednesday. I'll give anybody a chance."
A.J. Ratliff (regarding Crean) "I think he's a good hire because Crean has a good background of winning. That's what they need. He's a good solid coach to get to rebuild. He's a defensive coach, just as coach Sampson was, which is what everyone in Indiana wants to see. He's not as much of a high-calibur coach, but he's the biggest name coach who would take the job under the conditions right now. They're losing five starters, with no team, he's a good enough coach to come in with all that going in"
