Richter comes from Chipola Junior College, the same junior college Ellis and Thomas played at last season. Here is the press release from IU.

Marty Richter, who has served as an assistant coach at Chipola Junior College for the past year, will assume the role of video coordinator for the men's basketball program effective immediately.

Richter had been an assistant coach on interim head coach Dan Dakich's staff from 2003-2007 at Bowling Green. Richter was involved in many aspects of the program, of which include; team travel, scouting, academics and the Junior Falcons program.

He came to BGSU in 2003 where he served as the team's administrative assistant and was promoted to full-time status in the summer of 2004.

At BGSU, he was on a staff that produced five All-MAC performers and had two players lead the MAC in scoring in two of his four seasons.

He spent the previous two years as a graduate assistant coach at The University of South Dakota. He helped the Coyotes have two consecutive 19 win seasons. He was an assistant coach at Simpson for two years (1999-2001).

He played for Simpson from 1995-99 when the team rolled up an 80-23 record. He started his junior and senior years. In his junior year, he helped lead his team to a 22-3 record, claiming the conference championship. He helped Simpson to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 1996.

He earned a degree in physical education from Simpson and a master's degree in athletic administration from The University of South Dakota.
