Hey folks,
It was a rough one last night for the Hoosiers. They'll have to rebound next Monday too, against one of the Big Ten's best teams, Ohio State.
In the meantime, we have a press release from the good people at iuhoosiers.com about the Head to the Hall initiative March 2. This might be the second press release I've given y'all about this, but here it is again: HEAD TO THE HALL MARCH 2 AND CATCH A HOOSIER DOUBLEHEADER
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Fans have a unique opportunity to catch both Indiana basketball teams as the Big Ten Network presents Head to the Hall on Sunday, March 2.
Indiana head coach Felisha Legette-Jack and the Hoosiers are looking to set a new attendance record in the state of Indiana for a women's basketball game and want you to Head to the Hall for just $1. The record of 14,124 fans was set in 1999 at Mackey Arena.
"IU women's basketball is alive and well as we are creating a legacy here with tremendous student-athletes," Legette-Jack said. "We are looking to make history in Assembly Hall on March 2 by breaking the attendance record of 14,124 fans set by Purdue and the Hoosiers need their sixth person in those seats."
The IU Department of Athletics are opening the doors of Assembly Hall at 1:30 p.m. ET to give fans a chance to watch the IU men's basketball team battle for the Big Ten Championship on the Assembly Hall video board at 2 p.m.
Tip-off against Penn State is set for 4 p.m. as the Hoosiers fight for a top-five seed in the Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament. Fans will also have a chance to help IU honor shooting guard Nikki Smith as the team celebrates her four years as a Hoosier.
The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a FREE t-shirt.
With over 11,000 tickets already sold, the Hoosiers are closing in on breaking the attendance record, but fans still have a chance to be a part of Indiana basketball history. To order tickets, call 1-866-IUSPORTS or log on at IUHoosiers.com for more information. So there it is. Will you head to the hall? Do you think the men's team will be in the Big Ten title game. Would you stick around to watch the women's game afterward? While you ponder that, I'll throw some Kenny Chesney lyrics in here at the bottom to warm the coldest of winter hearts - which we all might have right now.
Summterime, by Kenny Chesney
Summertime is finally here That old ball park man is back in gear Out on 49, man I can see the lights School's out the nights roll in Man, just like a long lost friend You ain't seen in a while You can't help but smile.
And it's two bare feet on the dashboard Young love in an old Ford Cheap Shades, a tattoo and a Yoo-Hoo, bottle on the floorboard Her favorite song on the radio Sing along because it's one we know It's a smile It's a kiss It's a sip of wine It's summertime Sweet summertime.
Temperature says '93 Down at the deposit and guarantee But that swimming hole It's nice and cold BikINI bottoms underneath But the boys heart still skip a beat When them girls shimmy off Them old cut-offs
And it's two bare feet on the dashboard Young love in an old Ford Cheap Shades, a tattoo and a Yoo-Hoo, bottle on the floorboard Perfect song on the radio Sing along because it's one we know It's a smile It's a kiss It's a sip of wine It's summertime Sweet summertime.
The more things change The more they stay the same Don't matter how old you are When you know what I'm talking 'bout Yeah baby, when you got.
Two bare feet on the dashboard Young love in an old Ford Cheap Shades, a tattoo and a Yoo-Hoo, bottle rollin on the floorboard Perfect song on the radio Sing along because it's one we know It's a smile It's a kiss It's a sip of wine It's summertime Sweet summertime....
