In the closing minutes of IU's first home loss in nearly two years, the student body at Assembly Hall released their frustration on the officiating crew (not the ever-popular bulls*** chant, but the newly released F-You, ref chant).

Needless to say, some folks were surprised with what was being said. IU Athletics Director Rick Greenspan was not happy at all.

I wrote an article about the situation for today's IDS. Three columnists, Jon Hines, Ben Homrig and Mike Abrams, all wrote columns about the issue. I encourage all basketblog readers to observe each.

I am curious what all of you out there think. I can say for certain that dropping the F-Bomb happens at other schools (it happened at Southern Illinois earlier this year), but it doesn't happen at most schools. Did this embarass you?

Is this something that will likely continue? Would this be such an issue if the game weren't nationally televised?

Should attendees at college games expect fan conduct to be a bit more raunchy?

Finally, where do you draw the line? And how do you go about doing it?

I certainly expect more to come from this in the future, but I wanted to use the Basketblog community as a sounding board to see what everybody thinks.
