IU coach Kelvin Sampson
Sampson said Bassett is suspended for breaking a team rule. He is not sure how many games Bassett will miss.
General thoughts - "I thought we played tough. I don't know that we played great, but I though we played tough. That was something we knew we had to do today. We had to grow up and be men. ... We were not very tough in September. We were not very tough in October. Winning the other night in Carbondale, I think they started understanding a little better, and then (they) followed it up with a performance like tonight. I don't know if we were great today, but we were tough. Great might come later, but right now I'll settle for tough."
On Eric Gordon's absence: "Thursday afternoon I realized he probably wasn't going to play. Game day they can be a little like Lazarus, now. I've seen some on game day rise from the dead. There's not game more important than a young man's health. If Eric doesn't play this game and lose it, OK, we lost a game. He and his parents have a lot more say on that, and the doctors, than I do."
On Jordan Crawford's play: "A guy can pout. You make a mistake, coach disciplines you - you can approach that two ways. But I thought he took his discipline like a man."
IU senior forward D.J. White
On beating Kentucky for the first time as a player: ""We take pride in winning in this gym. We don't want anybody to come in here and defeat us."
IU freshman guard Jordan Crawford
On playing brother, Joe Crawford: "It was weird. The past three years I've been watching him on TV. To see him out there, it was crazy."
On playing with Bassett and Gordon out: "I really prepared for it the past week. I knew we were going to have guard out. Coach says when you're tired, don't turn it over, just pass or give it to D.J. ... Coach said we're supposed to win those games. That's what this program's supposed to do, so we went out there like we wasn't missing nobody."
He called IU the "University of Indiana"
General thoughts: "They whipped us in every aspect and did it with a short handed team. I don't take very well to that. But they whipped us."
