While Mike and Chris were covering IU's game against Illinois State, I got a chance to watch former Hoosiers Rod Wilmont and Earl Calloway play at the War Memorial Coliseum in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Wilmont and Calloway currently play for the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants, a new NBA Development League team shared by the Pacers and the Pistons.

In the franchise's first game, an 86-94 loss to the Tulsa 66ers, Wilmont and Calloway both came off the bench but played most of the game. Wilmont led the Mad Ants in scoring with 23 points on 9-of-20 shooting, including two 3-pointers - one in transition - on his first two possessions off the bench. Classic Rod. Calloway played solid at the point and ended up with seven rebounds. He also had a couple ugly turnovers looking for Wilmont on the perimeter.

The play on the court was pretty sloppy on both sides and neither team looked like they wanted to rebound the basketball. For a $5 ticket, I'm willing to overlook the shortcomings. Plus, I got to see Wilmont set the franchise 3-point record at four. You can't put a price on these kinds of things.
