Indiana's Kellen Lewis Vs. Purdue's Curtis Painter

Lewis: 220-360 for 2623 yards, 25 touchdowns, 9 interceptions As most people realize, passing is only one half of Lewis's game. He also has been the Hoosiers most consistent running threat, averaging five yards per carry and six rushing touchdowns to go along with his passing attack.

Painter: 293-470 for 3019 yards, 25 touchdowns, 8 interceptions. Painter has made great strides from last season. At the end of the year he had 22 touchdowns but 19 picks, showing his decision making has markedly improved from a year ago.

Lewis and Painter are tied for the Big Ten lead in touchdown passes, but both have had trouble as of late. For Lewis it's been taking care of the football. In two of the Hoosiers last three losses Lewis has lost a fumble on potential game winning drives. Painter has slowed down after a white hot start to the year. After his first three games Painter had thrown 13 touchdowns and ZERO interceptions. Since that time he has slowed down and during Purdue's two game losing streak he's only thrown one touchdown and has thrown two interceptions.

In their meeting last year, Lewis had the better game but Painter and his fellow Boilermakers took home the Bucket. Despite Lewis's 290 passing yards and 103 rushing yards and Painters four interceptions, Purdue came away with a nine point victory.
