Junior kicker Austin Starr is one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award, which is given annually to the nations top place kicker.

Starr is 17-18 (94.4 percent) this year and has drilled 14 field goals in a row. He's 8 for 8 from 40 yards and farther, and is a perfect 9 for 9 in field goals against Big Ten foes.

The winner of the 2007 Lou Groza award will be announced Thursday, December 6th during the world wide leader (ESPN's) Home Depot College Football Award Show in Orlando.

Starr joins junior wide receiver James Hardy as a semifinalist for the award given to the best player at their position, Hardy (as mentioned below) is in the final 12 for the Bilitnikoff award.

It could be argued that the most reliable person on the Hoosiers this year has been Starr. What are the chances he takes home the Groza award? What can be done in the remaining two games that would help or hurt his campaign?
