Indiana football flipped former 2026 University of Colorado Boulder safety commit D’Montae Tims on Thursday, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett on X.
Tims joins former Penn State wide receiver commit Lavar Keys and former Wisconsin offensive lineman commit Benjamin Novak as the third recruit to flip to Indiana since Sunday.
Per 247 Sports’ composite rankings, Tims ranks as a three-star recruit and the 108th best safety in the 2026 class. The arrival of Tims adds to Indiana’s 27th nationally ranked 2026 recruiting class, per 247 Sports.
The Hoosiers first offered Tims on Feb. 17, 2025. However, the safety announced his intention to join Colorado on July 10, 2025.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety currently attends Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida. Tims leads an Armwood football team that owns an 11-0 record heading into its matchup against Viera High School in Florida High School Athletic Association’s 6A regional semifinals.
Tims was in attendance for the Hoosiers’ 31-7 victory over Wisconsin on Saturday and marks the 25th commit for second-year Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff in the 2026 cycle.
