With the semester already a month in, the pressure is starting to catch up with all of us. Stress can be overwhelming. One of the best ways to unwind is by gathering some friends, grabbing some popcorn, brewing a warm drink and setting up a cozy movie night.

Whether it's watching in a dorm floor lounge or on a white bed sheet for a DIY movie screen, you’ve already got the perfect setup to escape into some feel-good films and shows. It's a great way to recharge, unwind and make some warm, lasting memories amidst all the academic chaos. Here's a list of shows perfect for a fall rewatch.

“Ted Lasso”

With football and soccer seasons back in action, it's the perfect time to revisit this beloved comedy-drama on Apple TV+. Whether you're a fan of football or soccer, or just love heartwarming stories, Ted Lasso has captured our hearts with his unwavering optimism, infectious kindness and belief in the power of teamwork. The series follows Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, an American football coach hired to manage a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience in the sport. The show beautifully blends humor with life lessons, reminding us that sports, much like life, are full of challenges but also opportunities for growth and connection. For all the soccer and football enthusiasts, this series is a must-watch, showcasing how football is more than just a game — “football is life!”

Love, Simon

This heartwarming teenage romance captured our hearts back in 2018, as the main character Simon Spier, played by Nick Robinson, embarks on a journey of self-discovery and finding love online with a mysterious classmate. The film offers a fresh and honest perspective on teenage love, and its thoughtful portrayal of LGBTQ+ characters makes it a standout in its genre. With the film’s balance of humor, emotion and a relatable story about navigating identity and relationships, Love, Simon has become a go-to rewatch for many. It’s one of those feel-good teen romances that people just can’t help but watch over and over again.

Inside Out 2

The highly anticipated sequel to a beloved animated film, Inside Out 2,” was released this June, and it has truly exceeded all expectations. In the original “Inside Out” movie, viewers watch a young Riley as she navigates the emotional challenges of moving to a new city with the help of her core emotions namely: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust . In “Inside Out 2,” Riley is now a teenager, and the film beautifully captures her journey through adolescence as her emotions evolve and become more complex. The film powerfully portrays the overwhelming feelings that come with this transition, showcasing how Riley learns to balance her emotions and find harmony within herself. The uplifting conclusion leaves viewers feeling inspired and connected to their own experiences.

After making it through a month of the semester, it’s important to celebrate your resilience and hard work. Treat yourself and your friends to a cozy hangout as a reward for your efforts.
