UPDATED: Monroe County under severe thunderstorm warning until 11:45 p.m. Thursday

The National Weather Service placed Monroe County under a severe thunderstorm warning until 11:45 p.m. Thursday. 

A severe thunderstorm warning indicates severe weather reported by spotters or indicated by radar. Pea-sized hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible. The NWS recommends taking shelter in a substantial building and leaving mobile homes that can blow over in high winds. 

Monroe County residents can monitor the forecast through local weather channels and NWS live trackers.
