Duo Two-Step Login to change this summer

IU Duo Two-Step Login will no longer allow calls or text messages as options to login starting July 12, according to an IU press release. The change is due to a switch to Duo Universal Prompt, which prioritizes more secure methods.

Individuals who frequently use call or text messaging options will be contacted by University Information Technology Services to help transition in June.

Other changes include Automatic Duo Push, which will no longer require users to tap a button, a simplified visual appearance and support for Spanish, French, German and Japanese.

The Universal Prompt will also remember the most recently used authentication method on the device and will not automatically display other options.

After logging in, users will be prompted with a “Trust this browser?” message. According to the press release, this option will allow users to stay logged in for seven days.
