Dongwook Ko was sentenced Wednesday for stabbing a 13-year-old girl in 2019 at a camp at the Jacobs School of Music.
Ko reportedly lured the victim to the fourth floor of Merrill Hall, where he stabbed her with a knife and strangled her before she got away.
He will serve eight years home detention and two years of probation. This will result in ten years of house arrest, including two he had served prior to sentencing. Ko was 17 when he was charged with criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon.
According to Indiana Public Media, an issue for a mental evaluation was ordered Sept. 8.
