Man reports stolen marijuana, grinder to Bloomington police

Even if police wanted to charge an 18-year-old man Tuesday for possession of marijuana, they couldn’t. It had been stolen.

A man living at 3047 Amy Lane reported marijuana and a black herb grinder stolen Tuesday morning from his east side apartment, along with a television and an Xbox.

Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Ben Burnes said the man thought he had locked his door when he left the apartment. When he returned, the door was still locked, but his things were gone. There were no signs of a forced entry.

The man told police his grinder and a small amount of marijuana valued around $40 was stolen. The man was not charged with possession of a controlled substance since he didn’t have the marijuana at the time of the call.
