The IU football team has added a new face to its quarterback room Monday.

In an IU athletics press release it was announced the Hoosiers have added former University of Utah quarterback Jack Tuttle to its depth chart as a mid-semester transfer.

Tuttle spent half of the 2018 season with the Utes but did not see any in-game action as a true freshman. He was born in Indianapolis and is the son of former IU walk-on kicker Jay Tuttle, who played for the Hoosiers from 1986-89.

A San Marcos, California native, Tuttle was a four-star prospect coming out of high school. He was also a 2017 Elite 11 finalist, was named San Diego Section Player of the Year and All-California Interscholastic Association as a senior.

Tuttle was the No. 5-ranked pro-style quarterback nationally and No. 13-ranked player in California by 247Sports.

IU recruited and offered Tuttle along with a number of other Power Five schools.

"Jack Tuttle is a tremendous addition to our program and we are happy to welcome him to IU," coach Tom Allen said in a press release. "He is extremely talented and brings a huge skillset to our quarterback room. We look forward to his arrival on campus next semester and his development as a Hoosier."
