The Big Ten Conference announced members of its 2018 All-Preseason Team on Monday.
IU was represented by senior midfielder Taylor Swope and junior forwards Kelsey Giese and Ciara Girouard.
This is Girouard’s second consecutive year earning preseason honors. She is the leading returning scorer from last year's 6-13 team.
Meanwhile, Giese started the preseason hot with two goals in the first half of a scrimmage against St. Louis.
This is Swope and Giese’s first time being honored in the preseason.
IU, like a handful of conference foes, kicks off the regular season Friday when it faces off against the Louisville Cardinals at the IU Field Hockey Complex.
Three members of last season’s All-Big Ten First Team return this year including Iowa’s Katie Birch, Michigan’s Meg Dowthwaite and Northwestern’s Puck Pentenga.
