Deer cull removes 62 in second chapter of Griffy Lake Nature Preserve saga

The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department announced Thursday its second deer cull has been completed and an independent wildlife management contractor hired by the parks department removed 62 deer. While the parks department told the IDS it was pleased with the results, others question whether cull was effective. Read more here.

Balanced scoring and defense powers women's basketball to win

After being honored prior to Saturday’s game against Purdue, IU senior guard Tyra Buss scored 19 points and handed out nine assists in the Hoosiers first conference win of the season.

Buss received help on offense from senior forward Amanda Cahill, and the Hoosier defense made it difficult all game long for the Boilermakers to get clean looks on offense.

The win gives IU an 8-9 overall record this season, with a 1-3 mark in conference play. Read more here. 


Cardinal Stage switches out musical in response to national sexual harassment conversations

“9 to 5: The Musical” has had crowds laughing since it hit Broadway in 2009. But with the ongoing national conversation about sexual harassment in the workplace, Cardinal Stage Company artistic director Kate Galvin is worried crowds won’t be laughing at the musical’s comedic treatment of the issue. That is why Galvin said she decided on a lineup change. Read more here.
