LETTER: Taking advantage of the farmer's market

Bloomington’s Farmer’s Market is a place to buy local food grown by local farmers. Yes, there are special guests but this should not be the focus of this event and this is why I am responding today.

People are attending the market without supporting any of the growers by buying their food. There are so many benefits to buying local food, it’s healthy, it’s not costly and it helps the climate when we are not relying on other states (California) and other countries. Go to the market to buy fresh food and plants and I don’t mean just breakfast.

The article focused on much of the fluff of the market and not any of the growers. We should be appreciating what Southern Indiana can grow!
