Thirty-nine IU students were arrested Tuesday night in Bartholomew County.
The students were arrested at a rental property on Grandview Lake near Columbus, Indiana, said Judy Jackson, spokesperson for the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.
All 39 students were either 19 or 20 years old and all were drinking underage, Jackson said.
They were all charged with illegal consumption and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, Jackson said. She said she believed they had all later been released from the jail.
“It is my understanding that none of them were local to Bartholomew County,” Jackson said. “They were all IU students.”
