Senior left-handed pitcher Kyle Hart was named co-Big Ten Pitcher of the Week after striking out 10 batters over six scoreless frames against Illinois State.
In Hart’s shutout performance, he allowed just three hits improving to 2-1 on the season, lowering his earn run average to 1.08.
After having a 29 inning scoreless streak in his previous start against Cal State, Fullerton said he got back on track in the 14-1 victory last Friday.
In his last 35.2 innings, dating back to last season, Hart has allowed two earned runs while racking up 31 strikeouts. This is the third time Hart has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week. The last IU pitcher who won the award was Joey DeNato on May 6, 2014.
