The series will commence Jan. 29, with Fred de Sam Lazaro, who has worked with PBS NewsHour for over 30 years.
He is also the director of the Under-Told Stories Project, a program combining international journalism and teaching.
He will address the program during his presentation, “Making the Foreign Less Foreign: The Under-Told Stories Project.”
His speech will begin at 4:30 p.m. in Room 1060 of the Global and International Studies Building.
On Feb. 10, Gerould Kern give his speech, “Does Mission Matter? Journalism on the Digital Front Line”. In his time at the Chicago Tribune, Kern has helped put an emphasis on watchdog reporting, and modernized the paper by expanding its digital presence. Kern will speak at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Ernie Pyle Hall.
On March 21, Jad Abumrad will wrap up the series with his speech, “Gut Churn.” He founded Radiolab in 2002, which deals with prevalent topics and current events.
Abrumrad will speak at 7 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.
