IU junior named Big Ten Player of the Week

IU junior Michelle Huber has been named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week.

This weekend against Penn State, Huber led the team with a .750 batting average during the three-game series. She hit two home runs, drove in four RBI’s and scored four runs.

Huber also registered two hits and reached base three times in each game this weekend, earning herself a 1.500 slugging percentage, tied for the highest in the Big Ten.

Huber has been productive all season for the Hoosiers, with still almost a month left to go. She is batting .323 with three home runs, seven doubles, 13 RBI’s and 12 runs scored.

This is Huber’s first award of her career, and she is the first Hoosier to win Big Ten Player of the Week honors since Amanda Wagner in 2013.

Her play this weekend helped IU sweep Penn State, the first sweep since a three-game series against Michigan State to close the 2012 season.
