BPD investigating burglary from Sunday

The Bloomington Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred on the 700 block of 11th Street and was reported at about 11 a.m. Sunday, Capt. Joe Qualters said.

The burglar broke out the back window of a bedroom, knocking glass out of the frame and leaving some glass inside the bedroom. Officers found pry marks on the base of the window frame.

Two long rifles, a .22-caliber Mossberg rifle and a .17-caliber HMR Mossberg rifle, were taken from another bedroom, Capt. Qualters said. The owner of the guns wasn’t home when the robbery was reported, but his mother was in the home and told officers she hadn’t heard anything.

The man reportedly had last seen the rifles at about 8 p.m. Saturday, Capt. Qualters said.

There are no suspects in the burglary, and the case is still active.
