Field hockey head coach Robertson will not return after 15 years

Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass announced that the IU field hockey team will be begin looking for a new head coach as the contract of Amy Robertson will not be renewed.

"After a careful and deliberate review of the program, I have concluded that it is time for new leadership for our field hockey team," Glass said. "We thank Amy Robertson for her tremendous dedication to Indiana University and for admirably presiding over the launch of our field hockey program 15 years ago. I have great personal respect for Amy who has been a positive influence in the lives of her student-athletes."

Robertson took over the IU field hockey team during its inaugural season in 2000. In that time, she put forth a 134-141 record along with two NCAA tournament appearances.

IU assistant coaches Phil Edwards and Kate Lipton will remain in their positions until a successor is named and decides on a staff. Edwards will act as the interim coach.

The search for a new head coach will begin immediately by Assistant Athletic Director Mattie White.
