A female reported being sexually battered July 12, according to the Bloomington Police Department.
The 36-year-old victim said she was in a designated smoking area at her residence near the 900 block of South Rogers Street when a man sat down next to her and touched her inappropriately, BPD said.
BPD said the suspect is an acquaintance of the victim. The case is still active. Police have not made contact with the suspect yet, but they have identified him. The victim reported the offense shortly before 7 p.m. July 12.
