IU continues to bolster offensive line

Noblesville offensive guard Brandon Knight made visits to both IU and Purdue in the days leading up to his college commitment.

After spending time with both programs, Knight elected to be a Hoosier.The 6-foot-5, 265 pound senior-to-be committed to IU Sunday night, becoming the seventh member of the Hoosiers' class of 2015.Knight is ranked No. 43 among the nation's offensive guards and the No. 12 overall player in the state as ranked by Rivals.com. According to the site, Knight had 11 other scholarship offers including offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Maryland.IU Coach Kevin Wilson seems to have made the offensive line a priority in the recruiting season. Knight is the third offensive lineman of the 2015 class, joining recent three-star commits Hunter Littlejohn and Simon Stepaniak.The Hoosier offensive line has been key in IU's recent offensive success. Last season, IU averaged 306.7 passing yards and 201.8 rushing yards per game, breaking the school record for total yardage per game.

Knight is also the fourth in-state commitment for the Hoosiers, all of whom have been from the Indianapolis area. Knight joins Westfield defensive end Jacob Robinson, Avon defensive end Joe Belden and Decatur Central quarterback Tommy Stevens as in-state products electing to stay close to home.
