Pence wins Ind. governor's race

U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-6th District, has been elected the next governor of Indiana, defeating Democrat John Gregg and Libertarian Rupert Boneham.

The Associated Press, CNN and Indianapolis Star have called the race with 78 percent of precincts reporting. As of 10:10 p.m., Pence led Gregg 50.5 percent to 45.4 percent.

The victory will help keep the Republicans in charge of the Statehouse following Gov. Mitch Daniel's tenure.
