Man buys ice cream with fake payment

Bloomington police are searching for a man who allegedly purchased desserts at Hartzell’s Homemade Ice Cream on North Dunn Street with fake money, Bloomington Police Department Lt. Bill  Parker said.

The man was described as in his mid-20s with dark hair and dark gray pants.

The man paid in cash, and a Hartzell’s manager later identified the money as counterfeit.

Police will analyze video surveillance, Parker said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information should call the BPD at 812-339-4477.
