No criminal charges filed in alleged campus rape

An IU student reported a rape Tuesday that allegedly occurred Saturday at her campus apartment in Tulip Tree Apartments.

Chief Keith Cash of the IU Police Department said the alleged rape was committed by an acquaintance of the victim. Both are IU students.

“She does not want criminal charges but referred to the dean for IU’s judicial process,” Cash said in an email.

The victim is 20, and the alleged perpetrator, who lives off campus, is 23.
