Next IDS editor named

The spring 2012 Indiana Daily Student editor-in-chief was named Friday following the fall publications board meeting.

Senior Zach Ammerman from Lebanon, Ind., will serve as the spring editor-in-chief.
Ammerman, who is a French major, has previously been region editor, opinion editor and an opinion columnist.

The board, which is made up of professional and student representatives, publicly interviews the candidates each semester to select the next editor.

Ammerman said he hopes to improve different aspects of the paper.

“I’d like to increase pickups, have bolder designs and bolder stories that are more interesting,” he said. “I’d like to rework the newsroom to make it more efficient and increase communication between design and the newsroom.”
