The IU Student Association Congress met for about 30 minutes Tuesday,
with 33 out of 40 members present. Twenty-two seats on the Congress are
currently vacant.
IUSA committees proposed two resolutions.
The first called on the IUSA executive branch to investigate the
feasibility of installing bus-tracking technology — similar to the type
used currently on IU campus buses — on Bloomington Transit buses,
specifically on the 6 and 9 buses. Congress passed the resolution.
The second resolution commended the recent price-lowering developments
on the e-book front, yet argued that more could still be done. The
resolution proposed for a dedication of a section of the IUSA website to
student textbook information.
The section would list textbook and class information and aggregate
prices for students. Discussion by Congress members centered on
feasibility of the program and costs associated with implementation.
Congress did not pass the resolution.
At the next full Congress meeting in two weeks, members will vote on the adoption of newly revised IUSA bylaws.
