The results from Tuesday’s city elections were still not known as of 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, and it is not yet clear when the remaining votes will be counted.
Vote tallying stalled at 2 a.m. following a night of confusion and counting issues among some of Bloomington’s voting precincts.
Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins said the counting will not resume until her fellow election board members arrive at the clerk’s office. The board members have the keys to the closet in which the ballots are locked.
Robbins said she emailed the board members at 2:30 this morning informing them counting still needed to be done, but she has not heard back from them.
A previously scheduled live demonstration of an operating vote center is still taking place at 1 p.m. today in the Atrium of the Curry Building on Seventh Street.
The public is invited to participate in a mock election there.
