His teammate, senior Will Kendall, lost to Michigan State’s Aaron Pfister in the same round.

The Action:

Kendall overpowered Iowa’s Mitch Beckert and Northwestern’s Raleigh Smith, 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-1, respectively, to reach the same stage as his teammate. After both players took their round of 16 matches in straight sets, MacTaggart fell to Dierckx 6-4, 6-4 and Kendall lost 6-1, 6-2.
