Student rape reported on North Jordan Ave.

A 20-year-old female reported being raped to IU Police Department on Wednesday.

The female reported the rape at 8:07 p.m., according to the IUPD police log.  Police Chief Keith Cash said the incident occurred Sept. 18 but wasn’t reported until Wednesday.

“The 21-year-old accused and the victim were dating at the time of the rape,” said Cash. “The incident started as consensual, then, according to the female, was not consensual.”

The incident occurred in a vehicle in the parking lot of the accused residence in the 1000 block of North Jordan, said Cash.

“The victim does not wish to pursue criminal charges,” said Cash. “However, she is pushing the case through the Indiana University judicial system.”
