IU drops final regular season contest

Result:
IU lost 4-2 to Michigan in their regular season finale.

What happened:
Freshman forward and midfielder Audra Heilman put IU on the board early as her 16th minute strike gave the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead.
After tying, the Wolverines took the lead with 36th and 52nd minute goals. Senior forward and midfielder Jaclyn Zamudio gave Indiana hope in the 60th minute with a tipped shot off a pass from senior back Brenna Moeljadi. The Wolverines took the life out of IU with a goal in the 66th minute.
First year grad student Viki Green had eight saves, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Michigan offense.  Michigan outscored and had more corners than IU and sits atop the Big Ten standings.

Key Play:

Michigan tied the score with a goal in the 22nd minute. The shot ended IU’s lead for the rest of the game.

Up Next:
IU will travel to State College, Pa. for the Big Ten tournament, which begins Thursday.
