Debora Shaw was named the dean of the School of Library and Information Science on Thursday.
Since January, Shaw has served as the interim dean of SLIS, but Thursday’s announcement gives her the job permanently.
She has been a professor in SLIS since 2003, after earning a Ph.D. in information science from IU in 1983.
Shaw also served as president of the American Society for Information Science and Technology.
