The Remembering 9/11 panel discussion Wednesday was sponsored by the IU Asian Culture Center, First Nations Educational and Cultural Center and La Casa Latino Culture Center.

The panelists discussed the ramifications of 9/11 concerning diversity, tolerance and freedom.

They specifically addressed the impact of 9/11, experienced by the American Muslim community. Throughout the event, panelists emphasized the importance of educating students about the significance of tolerance.

“There is a confusion about, ‘Whatever is different from me is something that should be feared,’” said Singh, who is a practicing Sikh, an Indian religion. He said he is often mistaken as a Muslim.
