Monroe County GOP elects new chairman

The leadership the Monroe County GOP has been seeking may have finally returned.

Steven Hogan was elected chair of the Monroe County Republicans by a 59-25 vote. The election was at a closed meeting Monday at 7 p.m.

Nancy Ganka, the group’s vice chair, said she worked with him during his first term as chair, which lasted from 1982-91.

“He has served the party for years. He knows the ropes, he knows the people and he knows what he’s doing,” Ganka said. “I’m realling looking forward to working with him again.”
