Day 6: Volunteers search Griffy Lake for Spierer

Missing: Lauren Spierer

At least 100 people showed up at the leasing space by Smallwood Plaza at 2 p.m. Thursday to help search for Lauren Spierer.

Volunteers then drove to the boathouse on Griffy Lake, where people divided into groups searching rough terrain, the sides of roads and the shore line.

At the search, Rabbi Sue Silberberg promoted Lunch for Lauren, a “lunch-break” search for 12 p.m. on Friday. She encouraged everyone to devote 20 minutes at that time to search their surroundings, wherever they are.

“We want the whole world to do it,” she said.
