Student dies in car crash on SR 37

Timothy Estep, an IU student from Rochester, Ind., died in a car accident Saturday on State Road 37, IU Spokesman Larry MacIntyre said.

Estep was driving a 2007 gray Cadillac north on SR 37 when he ran off the west side of the road near Sample Road, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

He then seemed to over correct and run off the east side of the road where he struck the bolder, the release continued. A preliminary investigation shows that he died due to injuries from the crash, and the coroner is continuing to investigate the accident.
