Web gateway allows streamlined faculty research all in one place

IU has launched a new research gateway for faculty of the University.

The gateway is a portal that connects all IU faculty, as well as staff who are associated with research and creative activities, to the research and creative activities-related resources in one place.

“The gateway provides a quick, clean, direct access to the content and information they seek to accomplish their research agendas,” said Sherry Knighton-Schwandt, director of communications and special projects for the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.
Faculty will be able to quickly find resources and information that will help them get their research or creative activity project started.

Before the new website, different research offices on different campuses had separate websites. Faculty members who were doing research in the past would have to go from website to website to find the information that they needed.

“The research gateway is the first step in bringing together all of the research organizations under one web presence,” said Faith Hawkins, José’s chief of staff.

The new research gateway will provide a way for IU to continue advancing the services that promote research growth throughout all the campuses.

“One of the things that we’re interested in as a campus is ramping up our already very distinguished research profile,” Hawkins said.
