A man was arrested early Saturday morning when he allegedly drove his car into a ditch and head butted both a police officer and a corrections officer.
Police found Christopher Weaver, 32, at about 12:48 a.m. in a ditch in a black Camaro at the 2100 block of South Curry Pike said Bloomington police Sgt. Scott Myers.
This was after a witness called police, believing Weaver was drunk when Weaver attempted to leave a nearby parking lot.
Myers said Weaver refused to get out of the vehicle. When police finally got him out of the car, he head butted an officer, which caused injuries to the side of the officer’s head.
Police continued to struggle with Weaver and as they wrestled on the ground, and Weaver spit on another officer, Myers said.
An ambulance was called to check out the injuries to the police officer and Weaver. Weaver went to Bloomington Hospital to force a blood draw to check his blood alcohol content.
When Weaver was being booked into the jail, the staff said he head butted a corrections officer, Myers said.
Weaver was arrested on preliminary charges of operating while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement, battery with bodily waste and battery on a police officer causing injury.
