The Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor the 27th annual Red Cross Book Fair beginning today.
The book fair will continue until Oct. 5 and will take place at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.
Attendees will be able to choose from a selection of 100,000 gently used books, CDs, videos, DVDs, cassettes, records, games, puzzles, maps, sheet music and more.
Admission will be $10 on opening day and free all other days. Parking will be free, as well.
On Friday and Saturday the Red Cross will be giving a discount of $1 to anyone who brings non-perishable food to donate to Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
On Saturday, Tim Reed, a local composer, will be signing copies of his first CD, “Euphoric Owls.”
Attendees will be able to buy books for half price on Sunday in celebration of Military Family Appreciation Day.
On Monday, attendees will be able to fill a paper bag for $10.
All proceeds from the event will go to support disaster relief, service to the armed forces and emergency preparedness services in Monroe and Owen counties.
